New London casino opens to much fanfare

The Leicester Square Hippodrome Casino opened this week amid frenzied newspaper stories of needless opulence at the height of a recession.

Those over at www.pubfruitmachines.co.uk note howThe Grade II listed building which once housed greats such as Charlie Chaplin and Judy Garland will now become London’s premier casino, combined with an entertainment complex complete with restaurants, bars and cabaret. £40 million has been spent on the renovation, so the results should be incredible.

At 93,000 square feet, the Hippodrome will house the country’s biggest casino floor, with a maximum capacity of 2,000 punters. Poker can be found in the Top Deck – a section of the casino that provides 24-hour cash games as well as close access to bars and smoking terraces. 8 Baccarat tables, 15 Roulette tables and 13 card tables adorn the other two gaming floors, making the Hippodrome a formidable gambler’s paradise.

One quick note on the gambling from those at www.onlinefruitmachines.org: the minimum bet at the Roulette wheel is £2, and the minimum bet at the Blackjack table is £10, so bear in mind that the casino tables are set up for those with a few notes in their pocket, rather than the ‘passer-by punter’.

See a show, roll the Roulette wheel, play a game of poker, or enjoy a fantastic meal at the restaurant. The Hippodrome really does appear to cater to everyone’s needs. Good luck at the tables!
