“The Flat season is winding down, the jumps is still gathering momentum, and with nearly 300 runners on show today pinning down solid bets is tough.”
Welcome to racing’s twilight zone, folks.
The Flat season is winding down, the jumps is still gathering momentum, and with nearly 300 runners on show today pinning down solid bets is tough.
I suspect I’ll be treading warily as a result, but Picabo in Windsor’s 15:00 and Insolenceofoffice in Pontefract’s 15:10 do warrant a second look.
Insolenceofoffice has been knocking on the door in the north for a while now and this could be his day unless Michael Jarvis’s newcomer Boogie Shoes is well above average.
Picabo has caught the eye more than once this season, most recently when travelling strongly for a long way in a warm nursery at Ascot. The step back to six looks a plus and the strong market support for her this morning looks well founded.
