Oh I do like to be beside the seaside
“Ted Dolly has been holding his form really well this year and he looks the one to beat in the closing handicap.”
We have come up for three win bets for Irish racing’s annual trip to the beach…
Queen Commander looks to have a good chance of shedding her maiden tag in the claimer at 17:50. Willie McCreery’s filly has finished in the frame no fewer than eight times and would be giving weight to most of these in a handicap. She has plenty of form at this trip and the fact that she has run well on polytrack gives her the edge over the in-form pair Secret Hero and Lombrici.
Curl Cat is at the top of his game at present and, although the drop back to seven furlongs isn’t ideal, he looks the one to beat in the conditions race at 18:20. He landed a claimer with a bit to spare at Clonmel last time and comes into this in better form than the majority of his rivals. The absence of starting stalls is likely to be in his favour (often slowly away) and this unique track may well bring out the best in him.
Ted Dolly has been holding his form really well this year and he looks the one to beat in the closing handicap. He has only failed to make the frame on two of his nine starts this year, but one of them was a very respectable effort from a 4 lb higher mark in the Irish Cambridgeshire at the Curragh last time. He takes his racing well and Mikey Fogarty is excellent value for his three-pound claim.
