Luca Cumani: Has an unexposed filly on his hands in Mundana

Luca Cumani: Has an unexposed filly on his hands in Mundana

“Course and distance winner Roodle is respected, but she meets two with untapped potential in Mundana and Al Mayasah.”

A handful of unexposed fillies line up for this seven-furlong handicap…

Roodle found blinkers working a treat when regaining the winning threat over course and distance in June. She hasn’t been seen since, but is unexposed beyond six furlongs and should go close again providing the headgear works as well a second time.

Russian Rave returning to winning ways in a seven-furlong handicap at Leicester in May and has remained in top form since, including when persistently being denied a clear run at Newmarket 11 days ago. She doesn’t have much in hand off this mark, though.

Mundana was well on top at the finish when opening her account in a seven-furlong maiden at Salisbury in June. There should be plenty more to come from her after just two starts and she looks the one to beat.

Al Mayasah has an eye-catching physique and a fair bit of ability to go with it, as she showed when landing the odds with something to spare in an ordinary maiden at Thirsk last month. She is capable of better if holding it together temperament-wise.

Strictly Pink has won twice this year, but is more exposed than most and has a fair bit to prove after reportedly finishing distressed at Newmarket a month ago.

Noverton found only a useful prospect from the Cumani stable too good on her second start at Salisbury in June. She has failed to back that up on both her subsequent starts so has something to prove ahead of her handicap debut.

All Honesty is bred to be better than she has shown to date and saw things out a lot better when getting off the mark in a handicap at Folkestone last month. She ran poorly next time, but that effort is easy enough to excuse.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Mundana
2. Al Mayasah
3. Roodle

Timeform View: Course and distance winner Roodle is respected, but she meets two with untapped potential in Mundana and Al Mayasah. The former is the lesser exposed and can be expected to go in again.
