Today’s negative runs at Leicester
“There are ample reasons to take Tornado Bob on today.”
Today’s Follow The Money Movers come from Leicester, Sedgefield and Southwell.
In the 13:10 opener at Leicester favourite Tornado Bob has been weak despite the original jolly, Champion Court, being declared a non-runner this morning. Matched at [1.5] and less, Tornado Bob is available to lay at [2.1] and there are perhaps a number of reasons that can be put up for this drift; the Donald McCain stable, with just two winners from 26 runners, doesn’t appear to have recovered from the effects of the bad weather disruptions; the gelding has to take on two unexposed types from the powerful Philip Hobbs and Alan King stables and he has to carry a 7lb penalty for winning a maiden hurdle. Clearly, there are ample reasons to take Tornado Bob on today.
In the 14.00 at Sedgefield, Kings Chorister has been steadily supported from [10.0] in to [7.2]. One needs to look beyond this horse’s record of no career wins from 10 attempts under Rules to see exactly why the money has come for this one. The gelding’s run last May, when third of eight at Perth (beaten five lengths) off a mark 9lb higher than today, is particularly interesting. Getting weight all round today against a group of animals with their own question marks to answer, Finbar Murtagh’s charge could just lose his maiden tag today.
On the fibresand at Southwell, This Ones For Eddy has been backed from [6.4] in to [4.7] in the 14:20. Luke Morris’ mount has been running as if the return to this trip will suit and if we add into the melting pot a course record of two wins and five places from just nine runs at the track as well as the fact that he’s potentially well handicapped off a mark of 59, it is not difficult to envisage This Ones For Eddy getting his head in front again today.
Recommended bets:
Lay Tornado Bob @ [2.1] Leicester 13:10
Back King’s Chorister @ [7.2] Sedgefield 14:00
Back This Ones For Eddy @ [4.7] Southwell 14:20
