Follow The Money to Chepstow, Lingfield and Wetherby
“At Wetherby in the 13:20, Sweet Irony has been supported in to [2.34] from [3.25].”
Today’s Follow The Money comes from Chepstow, Lingfield and Wetherby.
In Chepstow’s 13:10, Flying Squad has drifted to [2.9] from [1.91]. The six-year-old gelding finished second last time out at Towcester on soft ground and perhaps because of that is the forecast favourite in the Racing post today. However, although this is a relatively weak race with few runners, Flying Squad has a very low win percentage, with one from 24 runs and that was on the flat. This is a weak race and it is hard to form any strong opinions, but the market suggests Flying Squad may find one too good today.
At Wetherby in the 13:20, Sweet Irony has been supported in to [2.34] from [3.25]. This looks a very trappy race with nearly all the field relatively unexposed. Sweet Irony finished a credible third last time out at Wincanton over 2m and French breds often peak at a younger age. The trainer felt he needed the run last time out and that should put him right for today.
Finally, at Lingfield in the 14:05, Club Oceanic has been heavily backed in to [2.10] from [5.40]. He finished ninth on his debut at Kempton in a Class 5 maiden from a poor draw. The form doesn’t look particularly good but it is a race full of unknown quantities and at least Club Oceanic has racing experience, which often counts in maidens.
Recommended bets:
Lay Flying Squad @[2.90] Chepstow 13:10
Back Sweet Irony @ [2.34] Wetherby 13:20
Back Club Oceanic @ [2.10] Lingfield 14:05
