How will our Southwell bets fare?
“Take Cover is making a belated racecourse debut today and in an open looking maiden the market support is interesting and suggests a good run is expected.”
Today’s Follow The Money movers come from the meetings at Redcar and Southwell.
We start at Redcar in the 15:10 1m2f Sell Stakes where Chilledtothebone has drifted from [4.2] out to [6.8]. Linda Stubbs’ gelding has been running well of late, in plating company, including a win over at Yarmouth. However, the money suggests this longer trip will not suit and that there are others with better chances in the race.
Next up is Tobrata who has been backed in from a high of [27.0] to a current [9.4] for the 15.20 1m Hcap at Southwell. She’s still a maiden, but her Southwell form is decent, having been placed five times from eight on Fibresand. Today she finds herself at the right end of the handicap, with backers hopeful that she can grab her first win in this moderate contest.
We stay at Southwell for our final bet, the 15:50 7f Maiden Stakes, where Take Cover has been backed from [5.1] in to [3.6]. George Margarson has two runners in this race and the jockey booking of Seb Sanders on Take Cover suggests this is the stables first string. This four-year-old gelding is making a belated racecourse debut today and in an open looking maiden the market support is interesting and suggests a good run is expected.
