Brabazon has been heavily backed in for the 12:45 at Lingfield
Lingfield is the venue for two of FTM’s three selections today. Here’s what your money should be on…
Todays Follow The Money movers come from Lingfield and Southwell.
Starting at Lingfield in the 12:45 Amateur Riders’ Handicap over 2m Brabazon has been the mover of the day heavily supported in to [7.0] from [50.0]. This gamble was not easy to predict as Brabazon has never won a race and has finished nearer last than first in its previous six races. However, he has not run for 892 days, benefits from a new trainer and is on a very low mark whilst his sire In The Wings is a respectable middle distance horse.
In the 13:45 Nursery (Class 4) over 1m Piceno has drifted out to [2.82] from [2.18]. He has won his last two races at Newmarket and Salisbury on soft ground, however today’s Polytrack represents a different challenge and with three horses having won their last race, this looks a tricky, competitive nursery race. He starts for a new yard and looks in good recent form, so he appears to have a favourite’s chance. The concern here though is that he has never ridden on an All Weather course before and that’s why the layers are looking to take him on.
Over to Southwell in the 15:00 Maiden (Class 5) over 7f Adam De Beaulieu has been supported in to [3.70] from [5.70]. The 3yo gelding has never won a race and was beginning to look exposed, however he did finish a close third last time out at Southwell which is a specialist track, carrying 9st 7lb. If he can reproduce similar form today he may go close.
