Will Fahey have a winner on the all-weather at Wolverhampton?
“Early money for Dark Lane at [17.0] down to [9.0] suggests he has retained enough ability to be competitive at the standard of today’s race.”
Today’s Follow the Money movers come from Leicester, Plumpton and Wolverhampton
We start with the 12:50 at Leicester where Alarazi has been easy to back this morning, currently standing around [2.5] from an early floor of [2.0] and given the 615 day absence, it’s not difficult to find layers willing to stand him at that price. Call It On is one that has been backed to beat him but Silver Roque has also run with promise.
Ballabrace bids to add to Venetia Williams’ excellent record in Plumpton bumpers, trading much more strongly than his principal market rival in the 16:00. In the absence of other evidence, the market move from [5.1] in to [3.25] may prove the best pointer.
Richard Fahey saddles an interesting runner in the 16:10 at Wolverhampton – Dark Lane. He joined the yard 16 months ago, ran without much distinction four times and has been off the track for 14 months. But in his first season he did pretty well and early money for him at [17.0] down to [9.0] suggests he has retained enough ability to be competitive at the standard of today’s race. Dark Lane has previously won after a seven-month break and backers may be hoping that he gets home over the minimum trip today before he realises that he’s out of love with racing.
