Take The Breeze is trained by Paul Nicholls

“Paul Nicholls’ versatile seven year old gelding has form on different ground and at different trips. Considering his last run back in April (when third to Burton Port after making a blunder three fences from home) today’s trip on good ground looks to be achievable.”

The FTM boys don’t know the meaning of weekends off and it’s a case of business as usual. Here are their three choices for the day…

Today’s Follow The Money movers come from the meetings at Ascot, Newmarket and Wetherby respectively.

Our first race comes from Wetherby where in the 13:40, a 2 mile Novice Chase, Osric has seen significant support moving from[2.45] into [1.9]. Nicky Henderson’s seven year old gelding has taken time to settle and show his true potential over hurdles but two wins in his last two starts in the spring have improved his BHA rating since his lacklustre first outings. With good reports from the schooling grounds, today’s contest looks an ideal opportunity to record his third straight win.

Moving South to Newmarket for today’s drifter. In the 14:35, a 1m Listed race where Alexandros has been easy to back moving out from [3.55] to [4.10]. Saeed Bin Suroor’s five year old has not won on British soil since last November, although this run did include a second in a Group 3 contest. His last run over course and distance a month ago disappointed and today’s run with the visor tried may be an experiment that could prove a success. The current market suggests it won’t be.

Finally, moving West to Ascot and the 15:40 contest, a 3 mile handicap chase where Take The Breeze’s available price has been shortened from a high of [9.2] into [6.0]. Paul Nicholls’ versatile seven year old gelding has form on different ground and at different trips. Considering his last run back in April (when third to Burton Port after making a blunder three fences from home) today’s trip on good ground looks to be achievable. With the trainer happy with his preparations for today’s race (where his runner is far from exposed) the market confidence may well be justified.
