Newmarket hosts the majority of Brian's Saturday runners

“Star In Flight looks to have a cracking chance here and would be our best chance on the day.”

It'll be a busy Saturday for Brian with horses running at Newmarket, Newbury and Doncaster. Read the exclusive views of this top trainer here…

Newmarket
13:40 6f Maiden
Nelson's Bay/Rawaafed:
I run a couple of newcomers in the maiden and both fit the typical Meehan first-time-out brief – doing their best but sure to improve for the run. They are both nice horses in the making – Rawaafed might be slightly the more forward this time and is one to keep an eye on for the future.

14:15 7f Nursery
Mention:
I am stepping Mention up to 7f here as she looked to be staying on over 6f last time. I think she is capable off this sort of mark and would have an each-way chance, albeit in what looks a fair race.

15:20 6f Handicap
Elusivity:
He hasn't had much luck this year but I am dropping him back in trip and hopefully that will help him get his head in front. This is a nice prize and although it has attracted a strong field as a result, it does give him the chance to get in off a low weight. I would think he could go very close if he runs to his usual level.

16:30 1m Handicap
Aciano: He met all sorts of trouble at Salisbury in the week and barely had a race as a result. He has been a shade disappointing of late but he doesn't mind these conditions and would have an each-way chance here.

17:05 1m4f Handicap
Star In Flight: He looks to have a cracking chance here and would be our best chance on the day. He didn't start off until late in his 3yo season and his inexperience showed a bit when he ran at Ascot last time. He did enough there to think he would be winning races off this sort of mark and his best days are still ahead of him.

Doncaster
15:45 7f Handicap
Manassas:
He loves this track and the way he is trained these days means he is able to race a bit more frequently. These races are never easy but there is no obvious reason why he won't give him running under the conditions.

Newbury
16:15 6f Maiden
Chapellerie:
She is a lovely filly by Acclamation and ran a promising race on her debut. She will leave that form behind her in time and she would have an each-way chance at least.

17:20 1m2f Handicap
El Muqbil: It's all about confidence with him and he looked good when he won at Lingfield. I thought it was a decent effort at Newmarket last time and he has the ability to win off this sort of mark. I would think he had very solid each-way claims here.

Best Chance: Star In Flight
Best Each-Way: Elusivity
